Single Review: Green Day – Oh Love

Prior to a three album-avalanche by the Berkeley bunch, Green Day have released ‘Oh Love’, the first single from ¡UNO!

Unlike ‘American Idiot’ and ’21st Century Breakdown’, the band seemed to have dropped the concept album in favour of a return to their ‘Warning’ days.

‘Oh Love’ is full of infectious pop-punk riffs along with a catchy-as-hell chorus to boot, but it desperately lacks the sort of swagger a lead single needs to possess in order to pave way for the upcoming album.

Even with it’s hooks and solos, it’s minimalist safe approach holds it back from possible brilliance, an approach that Green Day haven’t used since conquering the world back in 2004.

Let’s hope they’ve gone all out for the remainder of their records. Otherwise it’ll be more ‘Oh Dear’, than ‘Oh Love’.

3 Stars.

That is the proper blog for anyone who needs to seek out out about this topic. You notice so much its nearly exhausting to argue with you (not that I really would need…HaHa). You undoubtedly put a brand new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Great stuff, simply great!
